Basic computer maintenance can help your computer and the programs on your computer, including ACI, function better. The following instructions are for Windows 10 and Higher.
Run Disk Cleanup
Disk Cleanup helps remove unnecessary files, like temporary files, from your computer. Use this tool often to keep your computer clean. To run disk cleanup on Windows 10 and Windows 11, follow these steps:
- Click on the Start menu and type Disk Cleanup into the search bar.
- Click on the Disk Cleanup utility from the search results to open it.
- When prompted, select the drive you want to clean up (commonly the C: drive) and hit OK.
- Disk Cleanup will calculate how much space you can free up. Once the scan is complete, you’ll see a list of file types to clean up.
- Check the boxes next to the file types you want to remove. If you wish to clean system files, such as Windows update logs, click Clean up system files. This requires admin permissions.
- After selecting which files to delete, press OK.
- Confirm your decision by clicking Delete Files in the confirmation dialogue box.
- The cleanup process will start. Once it finishes, you’ll regain space on your hard drive.
Check for Microsoft Windows Updates
Microsoft provides software and security patches to authorized Windows users through the Microsoft Windows Update utility. Verify that your operating system’s patches are current.
- Open the Start menu by clicking on the Windows icon in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
- Type Settings into the search bar and open the Settings app. In the Settings window, scroll down and click on Update & Security.
- Select Windows Update from the list on the left-hand side.
- Click the Check for updates button. If there are any updates available, Windows will start downloading them automatically.
- After the updates have finished downloading, you may be prompted to restart your computer to complete the installation process.

For offices using ACI Track to enter new orders and automatically generate file numbers:
- Open ACI Track and click Setup > Office Controls.
- Update the File Number Prefix. The prefix may contain letters, numbers, and hyphens, and is included at the beginning of every file number.
- Enter the starting number for auto-numbering in the Starting File Number.
- Click OK. Automatic numbering begins with the next order created.
Note: The minimum length of the automatically generated file number, including prefix, is eight characters. Track inserts zeros if the number of characters in the prefix plus the starting file number is less than eight (i.e., if the prefix is 598 and the starting file number is 1, the first file number will be 59800001).

Property Crosscheck provides a history of the property found in your ACI Research Database to ensure that you’re using the most accurate and up-to-date information. This feature highlights any discrepancies so you can reconcile the information before you update the grid. Fewer discrepancies translate into fewer correction requests from your clients.
Avoid “self-discrepancy” messages in the UCDP findings with a simple keyboard shortcut, CTRL+K from within the comps grid. This quick-key launches Property CrossCheck in ACI Report, a feature that enables you to:
- Preview the comparable data from your records.
- Compare discrepancies and replace all of the data with one click.
- Merge the data and fill in the gaps.
How to Enable Auto-Property CrossCheck
- Open ACI Research.
- Go to Options > Settings.
- Check Enable Auto-Property CrossCheck in Report.
With this setting enabled, whenever a property address is entered Property CrossCheck will quickly search your Comp database and prompt you to import.

Enabling eServices Logs
eServices log files capture activity while using an eService. ACI uses this data to analyze the eService activity and design solutions.
- Open ACI and click eServices > Options.
- Select Log eService Activity and Log XML Communications.
- Verify that the Primary Log File Path contains a valid path (default location: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ACI\Logs)
- Click OK.
Clearing and Emailing the eServices Logs
When reporting an eService issue, please clear the logs folder first, recreate the issue, and then send the log files to our support team.
- Click eServices > Options.
- At the bottom of the window, click Clear out the log folder and click OK.
Clearing the eServices logs folder helps to isolate the issue and may reduce the amount of time needed to respond to and resolve the reported issue.
- After clearing the eServices log folder, recreate the eService issue you experienced. When the issue occurs, exit the eService.
- Click eServices > Options.
- At the bottom of the window, click Zip log files to Desktop and click OK.
- Open a new email, attach the .ZIP file located on the computer’s desktop, write an explanation of the issue you are reporting, and send the email to support@aciweb.com.
