What’s New
Precise Numpad Movement
You can now use numeric keypad distance and direction input to move selected closed areas, exterior and interior lines, and individual points or corners. Existing selection, snapping, constraint, and undo and redo behavior remains available while you make precise geometry adjustments.
More Accurate Keyboard and Numpad Drawing
Numpad distance input now uses the latest cursor position after you move the cursor with Ctrl + Arrow keys. Drawing and movement continue from the correct position, helping prevent misplaced cursors or line segments during keyboard-driven workflows.
Auto-Save and Recovery
Sketchpad now automatically saves recent work so it can be recovered after an interruption such as a crash or browser refresh. Manual saving remains available.

Sketchpad 2.4.0 improves application stability, keyboard-based editing, and platform security. More Reliable Exit Experience
Resolved an issue in standalone mode where the Unsaved Changes dialog could become unresponsive after selecting Exit without Saving. The dialog now closes immediately, exit failures are handled more reliably, and safeguards prevent repeated actions from causing the application to freeze.
Consistent Keyboard Movement
Improved the use of Ctrl + Arrow keys for precision positioning. Selected walls and figures now move consistently in all directions without becoming stuck, particularly when moving up or to the left.
Security and Dependency Updates
Updated the Sketchpad Docker base image and related OpenSSL dependencies to address a critical security vulnerability. The updated application container maintains existing functionality while improving security and release compliance.

Pressing the J key now moves the cursor to the nearest corner, making it easier to navigate sketch geometry precisely without using a mouse.
More Accurate Keyboard Shortcut Labels
Keyboard shortcut labels throughout the Sketchpad interface have been reviewed and corrected to match their actual behavior. This includes updating the Exterior Drawing Mode shortcut label from D to E.
Improved Toolbar Behavior on Touch-Enabled Laptops
Sketchpad now considers screen width when determining whether to display the compact hamburger menu or the full desktop toolbar.
- Screens narrower than 700 pixels use the hamburger menu.
- Screens 700 pixels or wider use the standard desktop toolbar.
This prevents touch-enabled laptops with full-size displays from incorrectly opening with the mobile-style toolbar.

More Consistent Cursor Behavior
The cursor now maintains a consistent crosshair and circle appearance when you switch from mouse controls to numpad controls. This makes it clearer where the active drawing point is located.
More Predictable Drawing Flow
After completing a figure, Sketchpad now returns to Select mode. This helps prevent you from unintentionally starting another figure immediately after finishing the current one.
Better Mouse and Numpad Interaction
When you move the drawing point with the numpad, mouse-based drawing is disabled until you click to reactivate the mouse. This prevents accidental changes caused by unintended mouse movement after precise keyboard positioning.
