I'm glad you checked the workbook for answers—we've got help files, web videos, documents and manuals all over the place and it's good to see people using the tools out there. This one could be a few different issues though.
Problem: ACI used to generate PDFs, but now it gives a "General Printing Error"
Solution: Check the configuration of the installed PDF programs and ACI's Printer Setup
How To: First, restart the computer, as Printing operations can be high memory and it wouldn't hurt to start with a fresh slate.
Then go into ACI Report and select Options > Environment > Printing > Adobe PDF. Make sure that your ACI is set to Create PDFs Using either our default ACI PDF Generator or the Acrobat Distiller or Acrobat PDF Writer, depending on what you've got installed.
Then click File > Printer Setup and verify that the only printer(s) listed here are your actual physical printers, and that they are labelled correctly. You do not have to have any PDF listed in this Printer Setup for ACI to be able to print to PDF.
